Disney World Questionnaire

1. What was the first year you visited Disney?

It must have been like, 1998. I was 12.

2. How many times have you been since your first visit?

I went one more time when I was 19 or so, and then the millions of times on my CP.

3. What is your favorite WDW resort, and why?

I would have to choose Grand Floridian. It’s my dream to stay there. I just think it’s so classic and beautiful and elegant. Of course, I haven’t seen Art of Animation yet, so that could easily be my new favorite.

4. Have you stayed at a DTD resort? If so, which one is your favorite, and why?

Nope!

5. What is your favorite ride at Magic Kingdom, and why?

Ugh. The carousel? Maybe? It’s always the first thing I want to do, and I love it. But I could ride Jungle Cruise over and over and over…

6. What is your favorite restaurant at Magic Kingdom, and why?

Tony’s! It’s so great. You can always sneak in before reservations start for dinner, and it’s DELICIOUS food, and the atmosphere is so cute.

7. What is one thing you MUST do while at Magic Kingdom, and why?

Spend about 1,000 years on Main Street USA and make time for the Trolley Show, Dapper Dans and Dream Along With Mickey.

8. What is your favorite ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and why?

Toy Story Mania! I’ve only gotten to ride it twice, though. Darn lines. It’s so much fun.

9. What is your favorite restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and why?

Sci-Fi is the only full service I’ve been to at DHS, so it wins by default. I’d love to try the Brown Derby though.

10. What is one thing you MUST do while at Disney’s Hollywood studios, and why?

Hang out in Animation!

11. What is your favorite ride at Epcot, and why?

Hmm. Probably Spaceship Earth. It’s a must as soon as I enter the park.

12. What is your favorite restaurant at Epcot, and why?

Yiiikes. Um…MorroccoJapanGermany.

13. What is one thing you MUST do while at Epcot, and why?

Get Kaki Gori (shaved ice) in Japan. It’s my favorite snack, it’s refreshing, and it’s affordable!

14. What is your favorite ride at Animal Kingdom, and why?

It took me a minute to think if I’ve even ridden anything at DAK. Then I remembered Kilimanjaro Safaris. Which is clearly hands down the winner. Because ANIMALS.

15. What is your favorite restaurant at Animal Kingdom, and why?

I have never eaten at DAK! I love the tea cart though…is that still there?

16. What is one thing you MUST do while at Animal Kingdom, and why?

Festival of the Lion King! Because it’s the best, that’s why.

19. What is your favorite WDW Resort Restaurant, and why?

Waaah this question is my weak spot because I’ve never eaten at a resort :( And I reaaaalllyy want to.

20. What is something that you must do every time you visit WDW, and why?

Ruby Rhod is one of my favorite characters in sci-fi ever because he is Luc Besson’s vision of the hetero sex symbol of the future: a flamboyant, emotionally labile man who wears skin-tight leopard print or decks himself in roses, a man who accessorizes with big jewelry and dabbles in cosmetics. And the ladies love him. Everything about him screams “gay” according to our stereotypes, but he’s portrayed as a 100% straight sexual dynamo.

Besson is one of the few directors I’ve seen who actually recognizes that our ideas of sexuality and gender performance might have changed drastically in the future.

“1. push yourself to get up before the rest of the world - start with 7am, then 6am, then 5:30am. go to the nearest hill with a big coat and a scarf and watch the sun rise.

2. push yourself to fall asleep earlier - start with 11pm, then 10pm, then 9pm. wake up in the morning feeling re-energized and comfortable.

3. erase processed food from your diet. start with no lollies, chips, biscuits, then erase pasta, rice, cereal, then bread. use the rule that if a child couldn’t identify what was in it, you don’t eat it.

4. get into the habit of cooking yourself a beautiful breakfast. fry tomatoes and mushrooms in real butter and garlic, fry an egg, slice up a fresh avocado and squirt way too much lemon on it. sit and eat it and do nothing else.

5. stretch. start by reaching for the sky as hard as you can, then trying to touch your toes. roll your head. stretch your fingers. stretch everything.

6. buy a 1L water bottle. start with pushing yourself to drink the whole thing in a day, then try drinking it twice.

7. buy a beautiful diary and a beautiful black pen. write down everything you do, including dinner dates, appointments, assignments, coffees, what you need to do that day. no detail is too small.

8. strip your bed of your sheets and empty your underwear draw into the washing machine. put a massive scoop of scented fabric softener in there and wash. make your bed in full.

9. organise your room. fold all your clothes (and bag what you don’t want), clean your mirror, your laptop, vacuum the floor. light a beautiful candle.

10. have a luxurious shower with your favourite music playing. wash your hair, scrub your body, brush your teeth. lather your whole body in moisturiser, get familiar with the part between your toes, your inner thighs, the back of your neck.

11. push yourself to go for a walk. take your headphones, go to the beach and walk. smile at strangers walking the other way and be surprised how many smile back. bring your dog and observe the dog’s behaviour. realise you can learn from your dog.

12. message old friends with personal jokes. reminisce. suggest a catch up soon, even if you don’t follow through. push yourself to follow through.

14. think long and hard about what interests you. crime? sex? boarding school? long-forgotten romance etiquette? find a book about it and read it. there is a book about literally everything.

15. become the person you would ideally fall in love with. let cars merge into your lane when driving. pay double for parking tickets and leave a second one in the machine. stick your tongue out at babies. compliment people on their cute clothes. challenge yourself to not ridicule anyone for a whole day. then two. then a week. walk with a straight posture. look people in the eye. ask people about their story. talk to acquaintances so they become friends.

16. lie in the sunshine. daydream about the life you would lead if failure wasn’t a thing. open your eyes. take small steps to make it happen for you.”
